I think I probably need a replacement control unit as show below.

Apart from MB dealership does anyone have any ideas as to sources or the cost of this item?

The unit is situated under the rear seat next to the battery on the O/S.

TIA.

Paul.

What is it? The part # doesn't come up in EPC

Controller for amongst other things Alarm, central locking and interior lights (I think).

Posted here a few days ago.

Thanks.

Paul.

Its the vacuum pump and controller for the central locking
alt part no is possibly A2108002748 Google Translate

notes would indicate that coding is required via star after installation to match it to the cars electrical systems. Its a wopping £446-09 from Inchcape so definitely worth trying to get the electronics repaired/cleaned up

Edit:- that part no I gave is for a saloon don't know if the estate might have the original no depicted in the photo and might thus be slightly different or not? I doubt you will get this new anywhere except from Mercedes- MAYBE German Ebay??

Thanks for that Graeme.

Original fault was interior light staying on and randomly causing the alarm to activate.

I did clean up the circuit board and contacts (they look very clean now) albeit with WD40 and left to dry thoroughly but since re-connecting I now have no central locking.

There was a lot of water in the footwell where the unit sits.
The unit is encased in a foam box which in this case drew water to the unit by acting as a sponge.

I think I have at least found where the water leaks in though - through a hole (should have a gromet) left by the missing footplate that I meant to replace when I had the gromets and a little time.

Thanks

Paul.

I have had a look at your other post on the subject and the bit of circuit board that seems most effected appears to be a section consisting mainly of relays and diodes- which might mean its repairable by a competent electronics guy had it been the digital end then its toast as lynall says.

These guys in Germany do a replacement for MERCEDES-BENZ A 210 800 27 48 Speed Autoteile
its

HELLA
Control Unit, central locking system

8TZ 007 828-401 or

KARMANN 522641

I have always found them helpful-worth giving them an E mail??

ps a similar one for a W202 was priced at about 300euros

I had the same situation, however managed to source a used unit from an indy and it works now. I too found water had collected in the area and the sponge very damp.

You have reffered to "a hole" thorugh which the water got in. Could you elaborate on this and the exact location so that I could find the source of water.

Thanks in advance.

strange,,,,,, ALL my previous MB had water ingress at the front (through the firewall).

I contacted MB direct, & they said that there is no fault, & I was the only person to bring it to their attention ?!

Sorry mate, but its good to hear of someone else with a similar problem.

,,,, won't go into details here,,,, but it effected a 123 & 124 series. I really won't be surprised if it occurs on this model at some point, in which case, it will be the last MB I buy.

Good luck on your current problem.

Baz

Hi Guys.

I need to source the foam housing for the control unit below.

Part number is MB W210 800 00 35 PUR 00W but I can't seem to find this in the usual places.
