Just installed a new front side window and getting terrible wind noise above certain speeds. The other does it too!
I've searched but can't find any specific instructions on how to make fine adjustments to the window alignments. I saw somewhere someone mentioning taking off the lower plastic panels on the doors to access adjustment screws?
Any help gratefully received. Thanks in advance!

There are several pages on this in the system. Either you can send me an email address and I can send it to you - too big to post here, or if you are handy to a Dealership they may print it out for you – or even fax it to you; section 67-420 of the 124 Manual.

One thing to make absolutely sure of is, if you have to remove the plastic covering for access to the window mechanism and motor etc, that you re seal it with the correct material and that the complete joint is waterproof. If not water WILL leak into the car and make a real mess, not only will it smell but it will find its way to the control modules under the rear seat.
May pay to run with the Genuine sealant here, I think there is a part number in the instructions. Hair dryers are good to go for removal, or possibly a very very sharp knife expertly guided, but it is still a messy job.

There are some youtube videos on how to do this on the r129... it is the same system on the w124 ce

Coupe doors are long & heavy and do droop over time. The fact that the window has to compress a long rubber seal makes getting the door & glass fit quite complex

I'd try to get the rear end of the door at the correct height first, then adjust the locking loop to suit, then adjust the glass. Look at the swage line to get the door height correct

Many thanks for all the replies guys!

The doors themselves look (and shut) ok to me but I'll look at things with a critical eye as Nick suggests and do them in that order.
