Just to say thanks again to Ian for helping me over the phone. My car failed its MOT on just the one fault, the number plate lights weren't coming on when the headlamps were turned on. I described the fault to Ian who told me exactly where to look and what to do. About an hour later all is illuminated and it'll pass tomorrow.

Cheers again, Ian and 124 works. :bannana: :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

What was the fault? Blown bulbs or something else?

The wires inside the protective sheath between the boot lid and the body have a habit of getting trapped in the hinge mechanism when the boot is closed. This crushes the wires and can on occasions cause the number plate lights to function incorrectly.

I'm going to use this as an example and it is a friendly advise, official though if you want clarification.

To be fair, it was a common model or at least marque specific fault, that you would like a MB specialist to be able to help you with. So good on 124 Works.

However, I think if we are going to be so prominent with these rah rah posts, in my book you are also writing "I am happy to read all reviews about this garage", so lets hope you are not upset if other threads dont read how you want them to.

Not at all, I'm merely passing a positive comment, like other comments which have been made about an experience I have had with the garage and its proprietor. I feel that the advice given to me by Ian was accurate so I could get my car fixed and this is what happened.

It is just an appreciation, not a rah rah post sorry, it would be no different to tell people at a GTG. I did not mean to offend anybody by posting this.

I think he is trying to say that you dont need to post about minor little things like this... obviously its great that Ian helped you but for example if I were to post everytime either Ian or Olly have helped me over the phone, people would get very bored of reading about it..

I think members helping each other out given their individual knowledge is what this forum is all about..
