W211 Mercedes E220 CDi Avantgarde in Silver (of course)
Hi Guys,

Needed some advice - I have purchased a second hand set of w211 Mercedes Sport alloys...
One of them had a very minor hairline crack (front wheel) which has been welded and fixed...
I have been offered a single rear wheel to replace that..

Seeing as the former hairline cracked alloy was a front one (8.5) and the replacement is a rear one (9) - will it be safe to do this??

Offsets will be different.

Sorry mate, I don't understand - does that mean more cost to rectify the offset problem?

Dont run with odd size wheels Have a bump and your insurance company wont pay out !!!!!

Offsets will be different.

It means basically that the wheels will stick out to different widths left to right. This can lead to the steering pulling to one side and, as has been stated, you would not want the insurance company to find that!:(

The wheels won't stick out any more at all as the difference in offset will be balanced by the width of the rim.

Regardless it's still wrong to mix wheel widths on the same axle.

Thanks for the advice guys - great help :)
