19 inch Tyres W203 coupe

Has anybody any advise on tyre sizes/choices as i want to get it right fist time round.
I have fitted the alloys without tyre, to highlight any clearance issues. The fronts went onbut seemed painfully close to the shock,approx 5mm away?? Will that be ok? Everything seems to work,just very tight clearance.
The wheels are fronts 8.5 x 19 rears 9.5 x 19.
The car is c230 coupe Amg spec 51 reg.

my mates got a set the same size on his C55, they rub, so let me find out what he has got and then you should get a size smaller width wise

The wheels offset has as much to do with whether it fits your car or not. Check the sticky on wheels and tyres section of forum for the right offset for your car and check against the wheels offset. Mel.

Yes i am aware of that.
I will check the sticky.
Although there are exceptions to the recommendations that also do the job and well, in this case i know the wheels clear(only just), i am just after tyre size recommendations
, to avoid trialing/wasting time/money.

The offsets are front et 35 rear et30
