Just bought my first mercedes and im smitten!, apart from the fact its stared messing with me!
Car is 190e auto 1990
I changed the fuel pump and filter recently and drove for approx 200 miles no probs, then broke down on me, Rac man noticed pump not buzzing gave it gentle tap and hey presto fine again, this has happened 3 times now but this morninig it just died after short run (under a mile), i have taken pump off and tested it and its fine, placed it back on car and buzzed for first attempt and now not buzzing at all again!
any ideas anyone? i understand there are 2 relays a fuel one and strange one with a fuse on top (have checked this and fuse is fine)
Have perfect spark at plug
any pointers will be greatly apreciated, i still love her (at the moment!) even though i will have to cycle to work tomorrow!
