No, by choice I would never use it on any of my cars. But I have seen first-hand the effects of what using it does.

Have you fired bullets at a radiator and tried it? Didn't think so... :)

I just don't see how you can claim this with any degree of certainty. You cannot know if K-Seal was used, used on it's own or if it was used along side other remedies such as Radweld, which I would not use as I believe it does reduce passageways.

I've actually used it for a leaking heater matrix on an old 190E that was a daily driver. For £10 it stopped the leak. The car ran for 3 years & 54,000 miles after the K-Seal treatment with no ill effects - no rise in operating temperature, no diminution of the heater's ability - nothing. That car is still running strong for the new owner.

I had absolutely no intention of undertaking the huge job of replacing the heater core myself & it would have cost more that the car was worth to pay to have that job done. It literally saved that car's life.

If I was the OP the very first thing I would do is chuck in a bottle of it & see what happens. If it doesn't work he's out a tenner, if it does he's saved a himself a huge, expensive job.

As I said earlier, same discussion as last time. I was/am only being honest, I could quite easily claim to have used it for the sake of discussion..

I assume you have not tried to fix bullet holes with it either then, but you still provided the anecdote. :)

It's really not a good idea to use stuff like this IMHO - have you seen how small some of the coolant passages are on engine blocks and cylinder heads?

At the end of the day it's a bodge and a gamble - IMHO a gamble as to whether it works and also a gamble as to whatever other damage could be caused. It can make a real mess of the cooling system.

Bearing in mind a new heater matrix can be bought for a little over twenty quid and DIY fitted with no specialist tools in under a day I don't see the risk as being worthwhile in this case?

IMHO of course

Why did you use Radweld when everybody on here including me, a fan of K-Seal, said not to use it? -
Radweld, which I would not use as I believe it does reduce passageways.

K-Seal operates on a completely different principle.

Heater matrix

Hi done my old 190e defiantly need to remove dashboard took me a day hope this helps

I also wouldn't use k-seal. I had a nightmare getting the crap out of an old land rover I used to have.

I would just bite the bullet and stick in a new matrix.

Ive used these little packets of Ce-Lit radiator cement to fix leaks at hard to reach hose unions. I think woth most of these leak fixes its advisable to flush the unused cement out once its fixed the leak.

There seems to me to be a variety of opinions.....but I think she will now have to go to a garage to be checked out. :)
