1958 Mercedes Benz 220s Ponton Coupe

Lovely car that and rare as hens teeth.....however, when you then look at the sellers feedback its at 80%, so I had a closer look and he's got some duff feedback on selling, on the face of it low value cars....odd, seeing as he's selling this beauty.

I then had a look at what else he was selling and he has a further 90 high end classic cars for sale, but none of his feedback is on anything approaching the quality of the cars he's got listed....what's going on?

80% sounds really bad...but then you look and see that in reality this only 2 negatives. One of which was for a broken con rod.

I nearly bought one of these about 25 years ago ; the asking price then was £400 which I thought steep at the time , considering there was minor accident damage to one of the front wings , and I walked away .

It may even have been the same car since the registration number seems vaguely familiar , but the car I looked at back then was finished in two tone grey at that time .

The prices have certainly gone up since the late 70's/early eighties when a few hundred would have bought you any Ponton or maybe a 190 or 300SL if you got lucky .

He's had 3 negs in the last 12 months....and has only had 16 listings....:(

He's now selling classifieds which buyers can't leave feedback for as the transactions aren't through eBay. He's probably sold many more cars but they were probably classifieds
