Hi,

Tried to start my 300CE yesterday after about a month of it standing and it initially started then cut out. It has since refused to start. When I switch on the ignition I cannot hear the fuel pump run. Having looked at other threads it looks like it could be the fuel pump relay so I removed it ready to take it apart to look for dry joints bit it looks like its sealed with mastic - can anyone let me know what I need to do to take it apart.

Also, does anyone know which contacts on the fuel pump relay holder need to be bridged to bypass the relay so that the fuel pump will run and I cna start the car?

Thanks for your help.

Jumper 30/87 which is jumping the load contactor set in the relay and that test only verifies Fuel pump.

The relay circuit needs the coil to pull in the contactor, which is the relays sensor/low amp side.
So, what you want to be checking is if you have 12v at pins 15+ and 31 neg . w/key in RUN position.
If NO, then check fuse # 7 ...........

You also want to check that you have an earth connection.
Also look at the OVP relay which distributes the speed signal to the FPR.
See if the fuses on top of the OVP are blown.
