The ad would be great if he chopped out all the waffle

I think it's a good advert, shame more people don't take the time to present a car for sale like that...

I'm interested to see what that goes for. Mine has done a lot more miles but it is 3 years newer and a facelift.

It is a lot better than the "MERC S500, GUD RUNNER. SELLING 4 CASH COS I NEED UPDATE. BEST INTIROOR AND LETHER/. NO TIMWESATERS"

of which there are quite a few on there already.

Some of the text is cringeworthy but the two champagne glasses and some champagne propped up in the rear armrest had me groaning and clutching my head in my hands.

My pet peeve is script along the lines of "was sold to Mr T Jones of Derby who stabled his car amongst a private collection, then sold to a gentlemen in Weybridge...." are we in 1897 or 2010?

Tell us about wiring look replacements; ASR replacement and the usual bugbears of the W140 and I am there.....prattle evoking notions of cashed up landed gentry driving over the forelock tugging peasants as they fall beneath the unstoppable wheels of Germanic conveyed capitalism just does my head in

:wallbash:

I would take James Rothwell's car over this one...provided he does not wear a monocole to the viewing or use ""What!" or "Capital!" at the end of a sentence :D

I say old chap! A monocole! That would be a capital idea!

Original number WV5 is now on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo
The ad is sooooo verbose -wonder how profit he will make per word?

Looks nice and decent pictures for a change.

Proper ebay waffle, the duff bits are at the end of the 5000 word essay:

"All of the vehicles electrics are in fully working order"

" The only fault we can ascertain, is that intermittently both green and red lights flash at the same time in their mounted positions, within the rear view mirror when opening or setting the remote alarm. This happened to a previous S 500 we sold and proved to be nothing more than a glitch, mainly through standing."

"when you are using it's full closure system (closure of all windows and sunroof remotely via it's fob), the rear nearside window needs to be closed via either 2 conventional switches within the vehicle first, if at all already open"

So in fully working order apart from the bits that don't work.

I'm sure that someone on here had a problem with this dealer.

No service at all between 2003 and 2008?

The best one I ever had was with a BMW 840 coupe.

Me: "So everything is working?"
Seller: "Yes"
Me: "Including the tilt and slide on the sunroof" - this plays up
Seller: "No, I had the sunroof disabled. That is why it is not listed as having a sunroof in the ad. So I count it as not having a sunroof".
Me: "Err....they come with them as standard. So yours has it but not working?"
Seller: "I already told you - I do not consider my car to have a sunroof"

I kid you not!

Er..... Has anyone else seen what the bids are up to?
Is this right?

It is Ebay James!, it aint real till the readies appear... Im sure Ive seen an W126 SEC from this seller before, massive description, but devil very much in the detail. Some poor sod will read that guff and be convinced its like new and bit accordingly.
