1997 Lpg Bi Fuel C36 Amg

Some countries take to LPG much better than others, for example Holland, Belgium and Germany have lots of cars running on LPG and Poland has virtually every other car running on LPG.
And therein lies the problem until the LPG provision/take-up becomes more standardised across borders within a region (e.g. Europe) the manufacturers with leave it up to national specialists to satisfy the demand. They are, after all, still selling the cars prior to conversion without the additional cost of building/warranting factory supplied LPG derivatives.

Mercedes DO make a dual fuel gas powered car for Europe and it has started to export right hand cars to Singapore.

It is the W211 E class 200 NGT model.

It is compressed natural gas as opposed to liquid petrol gas (LPG)

The tanks have to be stronger because of the very high pressure the gas is compressed.

The car has been offered to UK but not wanted by importer yet apparently because of lack of refuelling infrastructure.
