1997 R129 electric roof trouble

Picked up my SL500 on Friday, and I'm delighted with it. I got it from a dealer, so it has a warranty, but thought I'd ask here incase it's a simple problem...

Hardtop comes off and goes back on fine, but I can't get the softop to raise. Have followed the manual to the letter. It says if the red light flashes there is a fault in the system - so I wondered if there was anything obvious I should be trying before I take it back to the dealer?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Could be any number of things, but reset the windows and rollbar and raise the soft-top manually using the tool in the toolkit (all described in the owner's manual). It's possible the tonneau cover has stuck if the hard-top has been on for a while.
