1998 C200 sport kick down ??

Checked fluid 2day and level is ok and colour not too bad. Garage reckons a new filter will sort out the problem as it cant get enough oil through to make it change down. Garage reckons filters are £70 + oil etc lookin best part of £200 :-( think i mite just live with it for the time being as cant justify that sort of money and it mite not be the problem !

Just put my foot down in park and it revs up to about 4300 rpm and keeps bouncing there

They do not rev beyond that in idle...normal behaviour.

Transmission filter for your is £9.70 plus vat and proper merc oil is £11 alitre plus vat and you need 7 litres and that's all from merc dealer so don't know were your garage got 70pound for the filter.

Just got a price from euro for filter, oil and seal £30 Euro reckon it only needs 2 ltrs according to thier book ?????

Way more than 2 litres.

7 litres with some left over, and you should be able to get sump gasket/filter for no more than £15

Hi strongly advise you use mercs only stuff as its cheap as and only the best will do.

Mercedes don't make there parts, Mercedes genuine oil filter circa £15 Mann filter circa £5 same part, expensive box.
