2 quick W124 questions

I have found, using the very helpful merc diesel glowplug testing guide, i have a problem with plug 3. which one is this in relation to the engine layout?

how do you remove the fuel pre-filter? I see the little 10mm nut on the top but how do you take it out?
how is it best to wash this filter? bathe in diesel or wash the crud out with warm soappy water and rinse and dry well before refitting?

Buy a new pre-filter. Will set you back a couple of pounds.

THIS may be help re the glowplugs. My saloon requires new glowplugs so i will be attempting this soon myself.

HERE is a good how to aswell.

to remove the pre-filter, undo & remove the 10mm nut and take the little metal bracket off. then pull the fuel pipe from the hole. then use a flat bladed screwdriver and carefully wrench the pre-filter out via the black plastic around it from the metal.
