Ok I have installed a comand unit it is the right one for my ML A163 part number. I used a loom adaptor. What I cant figure out is if I need the speed signal to the C connector and if I do where do I get it from. Also I am having problems finding any satellites using an aftermarket aeriel. Any help from someone who knows would be greatly appreciated.

Comand Online Europe in Lightwater, Surrey!!! PM or contact them through their website.

I have not bought anything from them will they help me anyway ?

Your a member of the forum and they are nice people, only one way to find if they will or not.

I hope you get your Comand sorted soon.

Oakley, i'm from comand europe - on a ML, assuming you have a W163 unit, which you say you have, then speed signal is on the A connector (pin 1 from memory), so you don't need to connect it. If you are using a W208 unit in a ML, then the 208 unit is expecting it on the C2 connector, so then you'd need to link it.

Buy a clarion aerial with the HRS (grey) connector - they are pretty good.

It takes a good few minutes to find satellites after a power on - you may not have given it enough time.

Thanks for your help. All wired up but now have a weird problem. My comand goes into night mode when the lights are turned on with the ignition key in position 1 and 2 but goes back into day mode when key turned to 3 ( engine running) seems to be working backwards ?

Have you tried it at night. I suspect once engine running it is using the light sensor to determine day/night *or* the coding is wrong and it doesnt realise its in a W163 ?

Thanks again it came out of a w163 so I will hopefully see it working ok in the dark
