2007 CL600 £11,750. One owner. 172k

There is nowt' wrong with a good high mileage car!
I'll be using this silver missile over the weekend for a couple of trips down to Blenheim Palace. During the 500 odd miles, it should trip over the 200,000 mile mark. That will easily make it the highest mileage XJ220 known amongst all it's 'garage queen' sisters.

Now 28 years old, but with 680bhp in about 1400kgs of car, it still 'gets down the road' quite well.
I was the first to drive this very car at 200mph back in 1991. It was only the 2nd car built off production intent tooling and lead a really hard life as a development car in period and then spent 10 years as a multi-race winning car. It was restored back to a road car spec using all the original parts in 2005 by owners Don Law Racing. Since then it has had a 'charmed' life in the hands of countless journalists, film crews and (for the 2nd time in its life) as a tyre test car.

The car is every reason you would not want a high mileage 2nd hand car, and again, every reason you would. It has become an important and historic car.
The cost? I don't own it, just enjoy the use of it. But the cost for this weekend will be the fact I have to talk at a couple of TWR Jaguar seminars.

That's about as taxing as chatting with your petrolhead mates down the pub:cool:

Out of curiosity I looked up the mot history of the jag.
Only comes up as 20k miles but had no odo when it did a test in 2009

Amazing car and great history. I've never seen one on the road and probably only one or two at car events.

That's one of the reasons you shouldn't buy a car!
I know what it has done in the past, we've calculated its mileage as a race car and as you can see it has spent time without an odo.
The 200k miles will not come up in front of my eyes, but a sum total of accumulated mileage.
The car actually shared a 'H' reg with it's twin sister (005) for a little while shown here in 1991(sometimes it was on trade plates!)
I remember driving it back from the Nurburgring on that plate (it was then red in colour) as that was the one booked on the hovercraft!

The current plate was on the infamous 220 transit van, but that was put back to it's original Transit plate to become more of a sleeper.

Yes, I've had both.

The 215 a very pretty :) The 216 not so pretty more in your face. Both Classic Grand Toure :)

The 215 is way more elegant than the 216 or even 217. It just doesn't seem to age at all.

A low mileage 215 65 is still on my wish list. It exists. It's out there. I just need to save up:

That is stunning, never seen one in that colour. Where did you find that photo Alex ?

If I'm reading the Reg correctly DC55AJO then a Reg check comes up as a 2006 VW Touareg ?

This car was on Ebay for a while, the seller also had another designo cl65amg in blue/purple colour but it had more miles. I dont think they're sold, he's just not listed them on Ebay now
If I remember correct he was asking £35k for this one?

Many thanks Sam :) Just stunning. The 2006 must have been one of the last one made, great colour.
Could quite easily trade the 216 for that :wallbash:

Even today they’re very appealing cars.

Love the 215, despite some of the glitches. They haven’t aged at all :)

Managed to get history. Only Two MOT's shown !! Dec 2018 - May 2019

Probably a Japanese import ?

If someone can get the VIN from the registration you can check the datacard

I have to say this is the best looking 215 CL65AMG i've ever seen!
I'd love to own this but knowing me I'll end up detailing it to as new condition ( it's close to that already ) and never drive it . It would be such a waste of a nice car

It says in the ad that it was originally ordered for the CEO of MB Ireland. If it's been living over there it won't show on the DVLA's registers.

Cheers,

Gaz

Stay cool guys. You know those 215s always have lots and lots of issues...
