Hi,

I need a new exhaust for the 200 and being a 1991 it seems I should have a down pipe, a centre box and a rear box but I have 3 boxes. I thought only 1993 onwards have a cat. Has anyone heard of earlier 200's having cats?

On my old 200E I replaced the front pipe, which is enourmously long, and it has a box in it, but it is a resonator box? Not quite as big as a silencer, and not a cat.

Bit of advice, my non OEM replacement gave a slight tinny rattle at a certain rev, only a minor irritation, but a genuine part may not be too pricey.

Thanks Frank, mine is as per that diagram so as it has an oxegen sensor I guess that is a cat.

All mercs in this country after 1991 have got cats. It was about "H" reg I think. Look for an O2 sensor to make sure.
