2014 C63 AMG
Had a search on Google and there's a lot of info but I'm more confused.

Is there a gearbox update avaliable for the MCT box in my 2014 C63. Had the car for a couple of months now and I've noticed a delay in engaging drive after reversing. Started to focus on the gear change and I'm sure it's probably in my head as I'm looking for it but the change between 1-2-3 seems to be more delayed then before

Any advice or pointers, saw people mention a TCU upgrade whatever that is (still need to Google it) but the car is under warranty with MB so was going to start there

Cheers

Take it to MB to see if there are any updates available for the gearbox module under warranty.

That was the plan, just wanted to do some home work so not to get fobbed off from the dealer. I'll see what they have to say, cheers RJ

Just say it feels notchy and ask what updates are available.

Seen this thread the other day as I was having a similar problem in my 2014 c63. Went in for its second service today(B). And I mentined this and the gearbox update.
When I picked it up they did have a update avaliable and updated it and said it should sort out the problem! Hope this sheds some light on it
Thanks

Thanks mate that's really helpful. Do you happen to know what version you were on and they updated it to? Anything on the paper work etc

Thanks again

Mine went in and there were no further updates available. I don't believe the software is regularly updated.

Unfortunately there is nothing on the paper work. The service manager said it was done "off the record". Whether or not this is a good thing or not I don't know, but when I had a drive home about 5 miles it did seem "smoother". Hasn't had the reverse to drive knock since ( but this was only happening one in say 10 times anyway)
So only time will tell but for now i would say something's worked.

Well popped into the dealer today and it's booked in. They couldn't confirm if there was an update avaliable which I found odd, that they would need to connect it up to find out. Any how will let you know what the outcome is.

hope all goes well! Will go out for a long drive tomorrow so will defiantly notice the if there is any difference!

There is no update, all they do is reset it if you mention that you have problems. It is easy to do yourself too.

So dropped the car off this morning, explained to the dealer that there's a

Was a delay in engaging reverse from drive or Park,
A clunk as such when it finally engaged
Delay in changing when backing off the accelerater before it changed form sat 3rd to 4th after giving it a bit

Asked if there was a software update avaliable and or a factory reset as such

Had a call to say it's all done, there was an update avaliable and that they've also reset it (they had a technical word for it but can't remember what he said)

Played the I'm a geek and like to know stuff so can you tell me what the versions were for the update. Could be throwing a line out but the response I got was, Yes.... The version it was on was 0021 and the latest is 4421

Read into it what you will, will be collecting it this evening so if I notice any difference in the changes, with or without the paddles I'll let you know

Cheers

I've sent a text to the Mercedes master tech guy I know to see what he says, I was only there a couple of month back and there was no update so I have mentioned the codes you have put to see what he says.

Mine went in too and no updates available. Likely it wasn't previously updated from the factory. Most recent update raised the limp mode temperature.

I also enquired with my dealer a couple of months ago no update was apparently available. You could just do the MCT reset yourself and see if that helps

Took this photo of the paperwork. May well be it had never been updated and was just required to bring it up to date

Thanks I will show him that too, car is booked in next Friday for its first MOT so if the update is available will be good to get before the warranty expires!

No problem Phil. Half the posts I found on Google said there was an update the other half there wasn't. So according to the main dealer in Ascot one was available. It may well be due to the fact one has never been applied to it. Will see how it goes and if there's any notable change over the weekend
