The front drivers wheel bearing on the 211 has some movement . I was gonna order a new part , and saw that the bearing in the picture was a tapered bearing , is the correct type , and if so should i try trghtening it before changing it .

i found after tightening they wear abit quicker!

Thanks lads , im gonna tighten them over the weekend and pack some grease round them aswell

Did this cure the problem?

The reason i ask is that I can hear an offbeat thrumming noise, roughly related to speed, which I associate with a wheel bearing.

I have jacked up both front wheels and can detect very slight movement on the o/s, but nothing worth writing home about. Is any movement, however slight, enough to cause the noise?

And will a quick nip-up of the hub nut help?

Make sure you use the proper MB grease. It is bright green!
