- BMW 520d SE F10, formerly c220cdi estate (for 12.5 years and 345k miles), before that w124 and w210
Having just finished changing the head gasket on my wife's Peugeot 306, I now know the value of regular coolant changes.
I believe that my 2002 c220 cdi still has the original coolant in the system, and after 172,000 miles, it is well past time that I changed it. (I think the service book says 150K miles, but I don't know if there is also a time limit).
Can someone tell me where I will find the engine coolant drain plug? Does it need to be accessed from below?
I believe that when I drain out all of the old coolant and replace it, I don't have to bleed the system. Is this true? It was a nightmare to bleed the Peugeot.
Any advice and help will be gratefully received.
Thanks
Duncan
