Hi guys,

First time post and it's only taken me 3.5 years to get round to it. Thought I'd say hello and share some of my ownership experiences over my time with the C63.

Had the car from new, it's a 2012 C63 saloon in Magnetite Black with PPP, LSD, AMG performance suspension (is that a rare option??), 19" wheels, HK and a few trinkets like blind spot assist etc.

The car came with OEM Yoko Advan Sport tyres which were OK but when they wore out I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Super Sport, OEM size at the front but went 265 width at the rear which made a big difference *BUT* I realised afterwards this is deemed a modification in the eyes of the insurers which is a bit of a PITA at renewal time.

After I'd run the car in, I went to have the car Dyno'd, just out of curosity, and came back as 396 WHP which seemed a bit low to me but I think this equates to 487 flywheel HP which is I suppose to be expected for a PPP car. Part of me is toying with a Eurocharged V5 map but really don't know if it's going to be worth it on a PPP car.

I think the car's weakest point is the MCT gearbox which some other people have mentioned. It's not bad, but can occasionally be jerky, even to the point of a violent jolt when slowing almost to a stop and then getting on the gas again, even in comfort mode. Mercedes has always said this is a normal characteristic of the car but I suppose they would say that...

Car has generally been bullet proof apart from a faulty windscreen washer fluid level sensor, and gearbox sump gasket seal which was leaking oil, which was a simple warranty fix.

Anyway, I honestly love it now as much as I did when I first got it. Can't see me ever wanting to sell it :)

Hi and welcome to the forum! Lovely looking C63 you have there,
The v5 map is well worth the money, so much better driver experience, more of a roar and some pops on downshift,
Where abouts in the UK are you?
Andy

Nice c63

Not much point mapping a PPP car you will only gain approximately 20bhp.

Yeah that's the headline peak figure but it increases throughout the whole rev range. I still think £500 for 20bhp is good value, it's only because the 450bhp 63's gain so much that it seems not worth it.

Full IPE exhaust is £4K and gains 30-40bhp

Oh and welcome to the forum! I'm nearly 2yrs in and can't see me ever selling either

Can't see me ever wanting to sell it :)

That's how I ended up with 2 of them.... couldn't bring myself sell the first one.

Thanks for the welcome guys :)
I'm based in Herts so I was thinking of popping over to Eurocharged in Watford as it's not too far away. Thought the v5 map is £750 ish, or £1000 with the handheld thingy?

On a separate note, my wife gets her new C350e hybrid today, should be interesting!

Go for it you will not be disappointed with the V5 map I have a 2013 ppp and certainly noticed the difference 521 bhp 481 ftlb torque and the sound on downshift amazing :thumb:

Give me a text bud on 07983082257, I'm sure we can work out a deal on the v5 map

Best regards
Andy

Welcome HHamster.

Is the eurocharged map with the handheld device, really £1000?

Loved reading your post. I feel smitten with my car still!

"Boyt" did my remap and I can thoroughly recommend him for the Eurocharged V5 Map, as I drive mine more, I'm realizing it's more than just the bhp increase, the extra torque is definitely noticeable and the exhaust blip when downshifting not only makes a nice sound, but makes the downshift smoother.

Thoroughly Recommended

Cool, I'll get in touch with Andy about the v5 at some point. Have you found it increased your insurance premium much?

By the way, when talk about the blips on downshifts, do you mean this is a bigger blip than stock? My car blips in S+ and Manual mode.

Hello bud.
I have another chap interested in the v5 map out your way, maybe we could combine the 2 and and sort out a deal. Might even keep the wife happy and have a overnight stay somewhere ;)
