Hi guys,
First time post and it's only taken me 3.5 years to get round to it. Thought I'd say hello and share some of my ownership experiences over my time with the C63.
Had the car from new, it's a 2012 C63 saloon in Magnetite Black with PPP, LSD, AMG performance suspension (is that a rare option??), 19" wheels, HK and a few trinkets like blind spot assist etc.
The car came with OEM Yoko Advan Sport tyres which were OK but when they wore out I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Super Sport, OEM size at the front but went 265 width at the rear which made a big difference *BUT* I realised afterwards this is deemed a modification in the eyes of the insurers which is a bit of a PITA at renewal time.
After I'd run the car in, I went to have the car Dyno'd, just out of curosity, and came back as 396 WHP which seemed a bit low to me but I think this equates to 487 flywheel HP which is I suppose to be expected for a PPP car. Part of me is toying with a Eurocharged V5 map but really don't know if it's going to be worth it on a PPP car.
I think the car's weakest point is the MCT gearbox which some other people have mentioned. It's not bad, but can occasionally be jerky, even to the point of a violent jolt when slowing almost to a stop and then getting on the gas again, even in comfort mode. Mercedes has always said this is a normal characteristic of the car but I suppose they would say that...
Car has generally been bullet proof apart from a faulty windscreen washer fluid level sensor, and gearbox sump gasket seal which was leaking oil, which was a simple warranty fix.
Anyway, I honestly love it now as much as I did when I first got it. Can't see me ever wanting to sell it
