This is not just Mercedes - BMW Mini x2 ,Fiat Punto and Alfa Romeo Mito -all cars less than 12 months old have suffered this I in my ownership.

I was told this happens when you use acid based products to clean the wheels, I'm not a expert so it could be wrong . I use acid free products and I've never had the problem and my wife has had a Mini and a Fiat 500..
If it's any concellation I had the following issues when I bought mine:-
Squeeking drivers side seat belt = trim adjustment to cure problem
Loss of cooling fluid = new radiator due to manufacturing defect
Corroded centre wheel caps = all renewed
Creaking drivers arm rest on door = new door card fitted
Vibrating n/s door mirror = new mirror, motor and casing
Jerking gearbox when cold = software upgrade uploaded for gearbox
Look at it this way adleast the issues are during the warranty period.

I've had one in the past where it came back from an MB dealership with lacquer stripped on the roof & they claimed it couldn't possibly have been them. This was while the car was in their bodyshop for the second time and it came out with the stripped lacquer, overspray on tyres & windows, orange peel effect, dust & bits in the paint.
Along with other problems the car was rejected for a full refund.
If you think they have caused the lacquer problem on your car you should complain immediately by phone then confirm your complaint in writing.
Document it all (past & current faults) in one e-mail/letter stating that you are not happy with the ongoing faults and that you car has come back from them twice worse than when it went in and that you are loosing (or have lost) confidence in them.
You need to decide what you want - do you want them to fix the car or do you want out?
Tell them what you want and if you are asking them to fix it, ask for a goodwill gesture on top for the inconvenience you are suffering. If you want your money back you are unlikely to get anything on top, they may even want to charge you for the use you have had out of the car.
Get someone else to read the letter before you send it to make sure it can be clearly understood and that you are not being unreasonable.
What would you feel is acceptable to ask for? I'm thinking an extra years warranty on top with a free service plan!
It sounds like you should negotiate a way out of this car, I doubt that you will ever be happy with it.
