My ongoing nightmere continues ....Found that the 30amp fuse in rear fuse block next to large battery in boot has blown . Replaced and car started .......drove for ten mins and fuse blown again .....replaced and then checked it to find that fuse was hot !!! Any thoughts ???

I have a wiring diagram which I used when installing my sub.

This only shows fuses in the passenger compartment, and under the carpet on the left hand side of the boot.

If you are talking about these second set of fuses, only fuses 1 and 2 which are near the bottom are 30amp. Fuse one is the one nearest the bottom as you look at it - where fuses go up the left hand side and relays are on the right.

Fuse 1 is the driver seat power. Fuse 2 is passenger seat power.

Fuse 4 is apparently 20amp, and is the fuel pump fuse.

Could it be the fuel pumps are dodgy and drawing too much current?

@ JohnEBoy ....They are under boot carpet where large battery is . Fuse holder is on o/s of the battery . The fuse in question is the large type of fuse H/D 30amp .
I agree with you it may be something to do with the pumps as when this fuse blows it knocks out the pumps !!

Hmm, the only other thing I can think of is a short - maybe at the pump end.

hahahahah erm do you know what part number for the drivers side is ?? I have two to choose from
MA211 470 17 94 ( i not sure but think this is passenger side)
OR
MA211 470 50 94 ( could this be the drivers side)

I only need the pumps not sender

Alps has just put new pumps on his E55 , maybe worth pm ing him ?
