Hi guys

I just wanted to ask if there is any harm in buying a 2006 /2007 mercedes s320 CDI with low mileage - under 35,000 miles. Is it true that if these engines are used very less or driven very carefullly, the engine.may be clogged up and the turbocharger as well, assuming the car is used mainly in town/city driving?

All comments appreciated. Thanks

I think when not used much, there is not much to clog up in manifolds
I would love to owe low mileage w221,specially face lifted one
Had mine with mire then 100k ended up with replacing both manifold 2k costed me
I would go for it as long as seller can proof the mileage
Great would be to plug Star to see services entries ti verify miles
Good luck

I thought the higher the mileage, the more better it is for the V6 diesel. Thats a good idea you suggested about plugging star to verify miles. The only problem would be taking the car to a Star diag. machine, before purchasing.

Be careful
I bought mine 80k on the clock, when I took it to my tech for service - 148k
Had all paper work, service book etc looked legit
:-(
Then problems started...manifolds,turbo,struts,swirl,glow plugs,relay disaster

Thanks for this advice, i am pretty shocked tbh. Imagine if STAR did not exist in this world...

Higher mileage is never going to be better for any car.

The kind of mileage can have a drastic impact though.

Isnt it that these V6 diesels start to teeth in or mature around 100k miles though?

seperate question... for this engine, am i correct in knowing that a service should be done each year, regardless of what mileage is done each year?

errrm thats true of any car, but higher mileage (per year) means more servicing, oil gets contaminated, brakes wear, filters clog up etc etc

Its pretty suprising to see that there are some s-classes out there that dont have the same number of services as the number of the age of the car.
