Before I begin please let me state that I have No Commercial Interest in this vehicle what so ever. I have a customer who is trying to sell this for the pricely sum of £1000. It may be of interest to someone here. It has done 94,600 miles. Majority of service history is Mercedes Benz Main Dealer. I am led to believe that everything works as it should. My reason for posting? Interest really. Just to show what you can get for a grand.

Nice, a lot of car for the money, but should the 4matic on the 124 not be avoided due to its complexity?

They also made a 2.6 engined version but not so common. Might be interested if it was a bit closer to home. The first thing on inspection is to check that the 4matic defeat lever is not in the service position B

If it wasn't a 4MATIC it wouldn't have the warning light in the speedometer, unless it had acceleration skid control, in which case it would have the snow chain switch.

It could also have the warning light if it had ASD and no snow chain switch.

By the way Ian, the chap I picked my wheels up from on my way back from you today has a 4-matic 300 estate he's breaking, if it needs any bits.
