500e

Blimey Talbir - was there any box left unticked when the original owner specced that car or have you added bits and pieces over the years?

The car has some good rare options, like climate control (as opposed to dualmatic), but i have added some goodies myself, like the original 500e rear sunshade, twin electric wing mirrors.

MB module auto lock at 7mph, MB two tone horns, MB door lock switch etc, MB Auto dim mirror (from a w140) all linked up witht eh alarm for the green/red LEDS....all nice enhancements all using original MB equipment.

All the Brabus goodies are all 500e specific as well, even the Brabus 3-piece Monoblock III wheels fit the car with no spacers and using the original factory 500e wheel bolts.

But the best bit is the factory w124 fridge in the centre console...i have yet to see that in any other w124 !

cheers

Car looks the absolute dogs danglies.

May I ask how much you want for it?

Matt

Sure, go ahead, ask....:D

No, kidding aside, i'm asking 14k. I might be a bit flexible on that for a serious enthusiast but one would be hard pushed to find a UK 500e in this condition for that price...when i say mint, i mean absolutely stonking mint.

cheers

Just need a spare 14K:rolleyes:

Were there any LHD's ever made? Great cars, maybe one day I could afford one :D

Trust me, they are mega fun in their sole LHD format. I was well nervous about buying mine but so glad i did....i wish all my cars were left-hookers.

looks lovely ...

You can buy one of mine Jay - mint UK car, Brilliant silver, 113k miles, the dogs knackers. Proper Recaro seats, Brabus 500e specific suspension, exhaust etc...

Talbir - Your silver E500 and the 040 500E are among one of the best examples I have ever heard about - I have seen quite a few in my (short) time!

If I was graduated from university, I would defiantly consider it - Hold it for another 3 years?!? What about the black one - is it staying?

thanks !

yep, the black one will stay. It will receive the 6.2 iltre M119 Renntech engine build and 6-spd gearbox. 525 bhp will make it the fastest normally aspirated 500e's in the world. Or more precisely one of the fastest cars on the planet !

The silver E is the better car - less mileage (113k), UK 500e, and has led a far better life than the black one. But black 040 is the colour car for a maniac Renntech M119 !

Ahh, so your 500E is the GT version and mine is the RS, my only option was climate control.

No memory seats, no heated seats, no rear blinds etc etc etc

At first I wasn't keen on it like that, now with a planned Alcantara headling and trims install i'm glad it's toyless, which is something I never thought I would say haha.

I do have your old passenger seat cubby box though Talbir, which was sadly removed due to the girlfriends legs being a bit too short and breaking it.

Dave!

Dave - do you have any photos of your 500E?

Talbir - Awesome plans, the RennTech modification is going to produce you something unique and very very special - Love to see it once its done, how about a drive sometime - haha!

Here is one from a car show in Bourne

It has a small spot of rust around the aerial hole from where the surround has been rubbing all these years, also annoyingly the front wing has a dent in the lip on the passenger side where the previous owner caught a fence post I think. Fingers crossed the bodywork will be made perfect this year during the winter.

I hope it's repairable....those things are NLA i think and quite a nice little goodie to have because of their rarity.

MB should have made them out of a chormed metal, they would have looked sick !

Really very lovely example - I hope Matt has started putting the pennies away! ;)

I fear not, it was a pretty cheap piece of kit really, I liked having it in the car but as the main passenger I carry now is only 5 foot 4" then it just gets in the way as her legs rest on it all the time.

It will be mounted oin the wall in the garage for oddments haha.

Dave!
