Hello all,

Just bought a 53 reg E220 CDI Estate 7 seater 2 days ago. Having left the car without use for 2 days, have noticed today that the rear wheel on the near (passenger side) has literally sunk into the arch. The driver/ right side seems OK.

Started the car and left rear wheel moved up but there is still a gap of 1 finger between left (2 fingers between top of wheel and arch) and right rear wheel (3 fingers). I haven't driven it again (maybe the gap will clear with constant air being forced in while driving).

Did not notice this when I bought the car and the dealer is unaware of this issue with the car parked at his place for 2 weeks.

I think this is my first car with airmatic suspension but not sure where to start with checking. Please advise.

Many thanks in advance..

Thanks for your help everyone. Must have blinked and missed all your replies.

I'm sure your sarcasm will instigate many helpful replies to your problem.

People do miss threads...this is not how to make friends and influence people. In future all you need do is say "bump" instead of being sarcastic.

Strange, but on reviewing all your posts (not difficult) I can't see any where you helped anyone.

Sorry, I need to learn first myself before i can help others. Can I make my query better? I can post pics for the affected shock?
Its apparently called an airspring or bellow if I am right. I can hear a compressor running when I start the car. Although it gets even at the back eventually, I fear I will wear out the pump if I don't fix it soon.
Can someone please help?

It's possible that you've got a slight leak in your rear strut, if you use the car everyday it probably won't drop.

Thx SPX, yes you r right about the leak. But i could not find any leaky pipe when I sprayed water on joints. The pipe at top of airspring is inaccessible. I hope you are not suggesting that I carry on like this?
Any idea how much is airspring new and used? Can i just get one side changed?

Yes that helps. I guess I only need the the left side 010 (near side). any idea on cost plz?
Thx for ur help.
