I thought 6.5'' Speakers fitted in the front of the W202 without the bose system easily? Even if I dremelled the small plastic mount, I couldn't fit some shallow mount speakers in
So I've hacked the door to pieces literally, with tinsnips, a file and a hammer, in order to widen the hole to 6.5'' and bolted a 18mm MDF spacer directly to the remaining metal work... theres not amount of room particularly as the find rail mount is right next to the speaker home.
So now I've got the Calibre CSC6 6.5 250w Max 80w RMS Woven Woofer in the door, now the tweeter needs to be in the dash, the crossover box hidden and the JBL 2 Channel amplifer installed in the boot. Hard to work on this car compared to my Toyota everythings solid and requires lots of dismantling.
Also I've had to trim the door card metal, luckily the mess is covered my the speaker grill.
Maybe it wasn't worth it in the end, but they do sound fantastic.
Pics to Follow shortly.
