Is the base cushion in permanent or does it fold over into the floor?

Trying to make sense of all of my bits.

Pics would be even better :)

PS Less than impressed at the rotten body behind the bumper, below the cd changer, even though par for the course.

Have to visit bodywork man :(

It folds. You lift the back first, then flip the seat base to where the back had been.

And the base sits in the compartment just behind the tailgate?

Wish I had not started this job. Apologies for the blue air over Doncaster. Just discovered that I need to take the roof seatbelt bolt out again.

Yes it does...the lid that is there already is the same part, without the cushion. In fact the big board you have on the rest of the floor is also the same bits of wood used for the seat back...it is in two pieces (I think).

Take lots of photos...write ups are always useful.

How's the lid meant to be attached to the cushion? I'm assuming it's hinged to flip or does it just slip in?

I think I'm missing a pair of hinges and also a board that goes behind the backrest area...

Can't see that being easy to get hold of somehow!

ETA - I've got the seat belt in on on side. I'll do the how to based on the other as I've now learnt from my mistakes.

If you don't have the board behind the back seats...you actually have it already...if you know what I mean.

The big board is made from the two boards that make the back and the missing board...still with me? Take out the big board you already have in the car, turn it over...and all will be revealed (I think) I can't have a look on my car because it's not here at the moment.

You do need hinges for the seat back.

Just remembered I had this from my D-in-law's S210, now departed (the car, not her). It was a cheap old thing and did the job when needed (the car, not her). The hinges of the seat base were rusted solid and had partly pulled out of the wooden base. I believe the padded base clipped onto the wooden panel as on the S124.

Hope it sheds a bit more light.
