Various.
I've decided to sell my 'loaded with every single option available in the day' Cosworth automatic as I'm not using it. A pre-MOT check discovered weeping on the front shocks.

Anybody got any suggestions for replacements? Should I go with the original MB shocks or is there a better alternative? I prefer my cars stock with original equipment, but shock absorbers must have moved on in the 20 years since this car was made.

Any advice welcome.

i would definately go with the originals,

although you say they have changed ocer 20 years, the first place that any modified shocks will be is the dealers.

go for bilstein shocks as mb shocks are either made by Sachs or Bilstein

the bilstein part number for your model shd be V36-200

Find out which manufacturer supplied the originals first. Bilstiens will be a lot firmer in the straight ahead than Sach-Boge even though they may have similar cornering charecteristics.

There will be a manufacturers name somewhere on the original part.

If you are selling it why are you considering anything but original replacements ??????????

If I was in the market for your car I would be looking for originality.

MB didn't make shocks, they bought them in from Bilstein or Sachs & re-branded them.

There's the possibility that the original shocks have been replaced by something better.
