Hi all,
Anyone know how to remove the interior rear light cover on a W202? It's been bugging me for days now. Seemingly such a simple task however each time I've tried to remove it (the bulb went last week), the entire rear section of the headlining seems to pull down with the light. I'm sure all it needs is a good tug but I'm afraid of breaking the light fitting if I use a screwdriver as a lever to prise the cover off (assuming there is a cover fitted). There's nothing in any of the manuals!
All advice gratefully received.

From my book:

1. Carefully prise out the light unit from the headlining.

2. Where applicable, open the hinged cover inside the light unit, for access to the bulb. Spread the bulb contacts and remove the bulb.

3. Refitting is a reversal of removal.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the information. I finally succeeded this morning. One end of the cover has a small indentation clearly designed to insert a flatheaded screwdriver. Although I had tried previously, I used a bit more persuasion (and a bigger screwdriver!) to the point where the plastic cover was bending at a very alarming angle. However, it finally sprang free and a replacement bulb fitted in less than two minutes.
Thanks for your help again.
Regards,
Alex
