A/C re-gassed and then won't switch on

Hi Gents, would appreciate if anyone could chime in here.

I had my air con re-gassed and after, when i tried to switch it on via command (w221), it would not switch on. The tick would go off for a split second and then come back on.

I took it back to kwik fit, who checked the diagnostics to reset the aircon and could not do it, so they re-gassed it and the problem has still arised. I've yet to take it in again for them to sort out. But the mechanic did mention to take it to mercedes who can re-set for me. Or is their a bigger problem?

I think that you will find that he aircon has to be restarted via STAR, and so even thoiugh you have been regassed the cpu running the aircon still thinks it hasn't benn regassed

Thanks for that. So basically their is no point in taking it back to the place where it was regassed as they don't have a star machine. The Mercedes dealer will charge for it I guess!

You will have to have it re-set with a Star.

Yup, can confirm. The old man is a 40 year + air con guru. replacend the condenser a couple of months back, deep vacuum, new dryer etc. All recharged, but couldn't get it switched on.
Star reset (locally) all 100%.
