The wife has been nagging me to get her a cheap runabout that is fairly economical and preferably a Merc:thumb:

Found one that fitted the bill and was pleasantly surprised by this A160.

96K, 10months MOT, no advisories, 3 months tax, leather/cloth, CD with remote, and FSH. All for an offer of £950. My other half is pleased anyway and although it's a manual, it drives pretty well.

I'm afraid I went into this wihout too much homework on the A Class:doh:Anything I should be looking out for in particular gents?
Couple of pics below.

My wife loved hers

We had it for 4 years, it was a rare model a A210 LWB evo....

Overall I think they are pretty good, from memory the stater motors can be a pain if they go (to get at) and the suspension can squeak. Basically it seems always best to have a manual which you have.

For some reason the auto / semi auto seem to cause issues.

At £950 as long as you change the oil / filters etc then its hopefully cheap motoring.

I think that things like clutch replacement can mean engine out due to the way the engine is mounted.
Had an A170cdi from new (2000) and there were no problems in our ownership other than rear suspension bushes(?) needed replacement under warranty.
An amazing car package - small exterior dimensions but reasonable space inside.
