A209 CLK 2005 - Parking Brake Release

Happy New Year All
Hopefully a simple problem
The parking brake on the CLK works so long as you press it all the way down with the foot.
The hand release is rather loose and doesn't always release the brake fully, (the light stays on)
The hand release lever doesn't feel that springy.

Should be about 5 clicks to fully on. The reluctance to release could be simply a need to lubricate the cable and pivots under the rear seat area.

Might just need servicing and adjusting, rarely gets done...

When you pull the handle the footbrake releases virtually all the way. The hand release needs to be pushed back into its holder. The hand release can also twist a bit.
