A 60:40 split front to rear, will get it round the track a lot quicker. And isn't that the point of a fast road car...to get there quickly (and safely)?
It will have to beat these which sell for about half the money? http://www.renault.co.uk/Resources/PDF/Brochures/Renaultsport.pdf
Relax - they didn't.![]()
Just had a read through this excellent book, 110 Wolseley 1500 1.2s were built for the Irish market and the A45 was a 1200 B-series engined Austin A55, no production figures for the A45.
The 1200 B series engine was discontinued in 1957 with the last engines fitted to the Irish market cars, so anbody out there with an original Irish reg 57 A55 or 1500 should take a closer look at it![]()
Taken from a website. Doubt if the car was the same spec as the Merc A45
So is your Mercedes slow and dangerous?
I suspect it will be nose heavy feeling to drive, and slightly dull, a slight bias to the rear would aid turn in, and give that high level of traction.
My first car was an Austin A40 the 1200cc model it was the same as the A55 which had the 1500cc engine. No A45 model in the UK unless badged as such on export models perhaps. Had a 0-60 time of three weeks and a propensity to ride like a Yo-Yo as the dampers fitted on these were useless. It was quite comfortable though and you had to take a run at hillsTaken from a website. Doubt if the car was the same spec as the Merc A45
