I've noticed that my accelerator response is better with cruise control on. ie the car really responds quickly and urgently with cc on but with just my foot and the accelerator it can be fairly sluggish up hills. This is on a C220 diesel 1996. Has anyone experienced anything similar on have any comments please?

Are you hoofing it sufficiently to use the physical kickdown switch at the bottom of the accelerator travel?

If I use 'Resume' just after pulling away from a roundabout or traffic lights after having set the cruise to 80mph, then yes it feels like you are really accelerating like dog poo off a very shiny shovel, it must be physchological though, it feels like that because you are not pressing the pedal and you dont feel in control.

I get exactly the same feeling. It must be the fact that the cars moving quickly without you hitting the accelerator. It feels a bit scary in the 600!

Hi Graham, no, just normal firm accelerator pressure. From the other replies, thanks, thats the very feeling I get, its as though the CC has access to parts the foot accelerator doesn't :) maybe it is just phsycological  psychological :( physchological :)
