My E280 shows only average MPG from Startup or reset, but I can see no way to see actual MPG due to driving conditions.

I was used to using this on my old car for driving for economy.
Is it not included as a display option on Mercs or have I missed something?

It's not needed. When you have your foot on the pedal you are using fuel...when you haven't you don't. Simples.

I missed it at first having had instantaneous consumption in previous cars, but my tiny mind can't actually deal with that information as most of the time it's fluctuating. The average consumption for all or art of my journey is useful though.

If you want to isolate a specific part of your journey then hit the reset button at that point, and it will reset the average. For example if you want to work out your fuel consumption cruising at 70 mph, you could reset when you're on the motorway and the engine is at normal operating temperature.

Yes, I can try that, does it also reset the 'from start up' reading?

I suppose it could be said that people who run a Merc probably won't worry about fuel economy? :)

If you hit reset when you're viewing the 'from start up' readings, then it will only reset those, and leave the 'other' readings as they were.
