Hi all, I want to sell my car (See signature) for no other reason than to buy a smaller cheaper car (maybe an A class). I've had it valued at £1480 for a private sale off the parkers estimation guide, now does this imply it's top notch or average?

It's tax runs out in aug, mot ok till next year, needs new tyres before winter, it's clean, and has the usual rust spots, nothing major, it's had new rear shocks, new front suspension arms, the modified lead coming off the cam magnet, rear wiper motor, it's immaculate inside, and it's had a good service. How should I adjust the price?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dei

Parkers isn't desperately accurate and if anyone professional pitches up they will tell you they use CAP or Glasses.

You can get a free Glass's valuation on the Vauxhall website if you look under the finance tab.

You can get a free CAP valuation (and a very detailed one at that) if you do a dummy advert on Autotrader.

In my recent experience, I had to let my ridiculously low mileage Golf GTI go at about £1.5k below CAP because the only calls I was getting were from numpties offering me two lollypop sticks and a Des O'Connor record. Two months later, it's still sitting on the trader's website at less than the official CAP dealer price.

Search out similar cars in your area and pitch the price accordingly. If you can afford to sit and wait aim high(ish). If time to re-insure and tax is approaching be more realistic.

put the car details with pics on here - you never know.

Not everyone has signatures turned on. As suggested, place a thread in the classifieds.
