Morning all

Insurance for sure is significantly higher this year from what I’ve seen being posted. I’m with Adrian flux and swapped my modded M2 comp for my current glc 63 s. When I tried to move the policy onto the current car the said the policy wasn’t transferable as at the time it wasn’t modded being an approved Merc car. After 6weeks cover on the M2 I would get a refund on £940 and then I would move to a new underwriter with Adrian flux (non modded car) resulting in a net increase including the refund of £700 so about £1600 for the year.

So had a think on it and thought I’ll tune it and declare it to see if I can stay with the same underwriter which resulted in an increase in £270 !!

I’ve never insured a modded car for less than a stick so this was a very welcome surprise.

Now they did keep asking me are you a member of an owners club, and me being too simple or too smart (this could be a trap) I said no, yet if I was certain owners clubs get 10% discount with them.

So my question if I had been a paid up member on this forum (not a freeloader !!) is there a discount negotiated ?

Just thought I’d share my story, but boring I know I’d rather be burned rubber too but just wanted to put that out there

hi Parm, always worth mentioning you are a member of a club and name MBClub, even tho there is nothing negotiated. I think the only one that's official is the Mercedes owners club which is a paid club and discounts arranged.

have fun with the 63
