Advice needed with replacing an SL55 AMG headlamp unit

Nearside headlight unit has become opaque. I have a new replacement unit which I would like to install. Has anyone done this themselves and if so - can they advise please?

Bumper of job, or at least the one side, you can get them detailed to bring back to as new condition.

I've had the detailed job done - and it reverted to opaque within 48hrs!!! Cost £60! New unit under warranty on its way for £340.
Is the bumper off job a DiY?
