Advice on Injectors and Servicing ML270

Hi all

I'm back again with the same problem on my dad's ML270 W163. it struggled to start during the winter. I had a Mercedes roadside assistant come over when it was snowing and he changed a couple of O rings to the pipes going into the HP fuel pump. After cranking the car for while with booster on it started. Had been ok since then but took long to start, but did eventually start. Since then the glow plug light is on, but it has not been that cold so I doubt they causing the problem.

Now the car has failed to start a few times and RAC have been called out who have managed to start it but say there is low fuel pressure. The car is also getting a bit louder and idles a bit funny (slight rocking).
Now there is a local guy who works on mercs from home and is a friend of my brother so he took the ML to him and he has the two injectors are not giving enough pressure and that the last owner has tried to bodge it with some black sealant. He has I need to change the 2 injectors. £200 each, however I have found a seller on eBay doing remanufactured ones for £75 each with warranty.

I am going to attempt to do this myself as my dad is retired and can not afford to throw more money into this car. I need help from you guys though, do I change the injectors or just the seals etc? also, thinking of changing all the O rings on the fuel pipes and glow plugs and give it a general service, Oil+filter, fuel filter and air filter. Does anyone know the part number for the O rings? Or do they just come in a pack with all sizes?
Any help and advice will be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Get brand new bosch ones from Euro Car Parts at around £150 each.

Also change all the clear plastic pipes. Only around £50 from the dealer for the lot and will make a big difference on starting.

Are reconditioned ones no good? its just I'm trying to save much money as possible for the old man. lol.

I was told if you change the O-rings on the pipes there is no need to change the pipes.

I will be using EuroCarParts for the servicing parts as my friend has an account with them :)

did this problem ever get sorted? im having similar issues now.

Did you get yours sorted Lee2831? I'm having the same non start when hot on my W163. The injectors were checked and the CPS changed but the problem persists.
