Hi

If you recall from some 5 weeks ago, i was mentioning the need for a wedding car.

Any how, my friend has decided to use my w124 cabrio for his day, and i just want ideas on decorating it.

My car as you all are aware in Malachite Green, and his theme is Green and Ivory

My idea is:

1/ triple pleates Ivory, Green, Ivory ribbon on the front from sun visors to bonnet star to opposite sun visor

2/ ivory ribbon floral design on door handles and wing mirrors, and maybe one over the front bonnet star.

3/ small flowers over front bumper and rear bumper

4/ flowers tied down in an oasis tray over the rear parcel shelf.

5/ just married sign hanging on the back and some rattling tins to drag along the back?

please give me any ideas, thoughts or critiscims...

thank you so much, have a good day!

No criticisms - sounds great.
Love the lighthearted idea about the cans and just marries sign :) - just make sure the cans can't bounce up and hit the bodywork.

Yes, empty cans first....

The general scheme sounds good, try to use soft ribbon rather than the plasticy type you find in florists, as this has a tendancy to scratch the paintwork as you drive along.

Remember to put White sheets or similar over the seats/carpets otherwise you'll have a helluva job hoovering confetti/rice from every little nook and cranny afterwards .

You could pour confetti in the heater vents and turn it up full, so when he starts the car, guess .

If the theme is green & ivory make sure to use empty Heineken & Stella cans as the rattling tins to keep the colour theme consistant throughout.

GUYS, if any one here has pics of their mercs or any mercs in general with wedding decor, or any convertible, please post so i can feed of your stylings etc.. i have an idea in my head, and thank you for some of your suggestions.. hinekan.. sounds good, painting the car white... hmm.. first yours.. then mine ;)

What does the bride want, DV? I used mine for friends once, he was a snake charmer, she was a funeral director. I had the rear headrests labelled hiss and hearse.

How about geting as much w124s as you can get there?I would not let anyone drive my car,but i don`t mind driving some people around.

Must say I've seen some convertible wedding cars but not a W124. Nice concept, just might catch on.

Men are from Mars... it's nice to see the Venutian side coming out...

Whats he going to do if you sell it the week before?

Well i wouldn't sell it should an offer come in.. oh well. lol..

as i have said, it gonna me marketed for sale, but im in no rush, as i am asking a high price, and thus will not be an easy now a quick sale, but for now, i can at least see the old girl having an exciting day out, i just hope that the weather holds up!

For me, less is more....

When mine have been pressed into service, they've just had ribbons on the front and flowers in the back. Nothing else - the bride's the star.

Agree with the comment on carpets, etc. Also worth having a chilled bottle of champers and a couple of glasses in the back.
