Advice please on an SL55

Rear axle, both sides - just inboard of the wheels and resting just above the axle there is a small black box (electrical motor perhaps?) with a lever/arm made of flimsy plastic going to a ball joint and then another flimsy plastic arm coming from the joint disappearing into the lower wishbone. Each of the arms no longer than 3" and about 5mm thick.

Any ideas please - as my n/s one has snapped? No captions tho??
