the car malfunctioned today, the rear passenger side brake was screwed and started making a funny noise on the way to work, pulled over to have a look, the rear wheel was smoking, lovely eh? its needed new rear discs and pads and a new handbrake setup, quality assured?

Welcome to the wonderful world of MB ownership. You'll get used to it.

turned up at the dealership, jam packed with cars just dumped anywhere, nowhere to park so i asked one of the lads in the workshop where i should park it and what a snide little tw*t he was with me! Then I finally get parked up and go inside... they havent even booked me in, great! But to be fair rather than mess me about he did it there and then and made a slot for me, either that or they just had no work on all day :p I was impressed with the service afterwards though, he rang me within a matter of hours letting me know it was ready and what the problem was. Went to collect it and it had been valeted (and believe me... it was in one hell of a state on the exterior from road salt) and was parked up out front ready to roll so although my first impressions weren't good I was pleased with the service I received

So.....

1) Smug git in workshop mouths off at you, oblivious to the fact he is the grease monkey and not you.

2) They "squeezed" you in for a job that would have taken around 45 minutes.

3) They bothered to ring you and tell you it was done.

4) They washed it.

Blimey, thats good. Thats really good.

I think its probably because I'm a young lad and I didn't buy the car from them but I've taken it there and he asked "is it the first time we've seen this car?" and yes it was, they probably wanted to make a good impression so I'd keep going back there for services and cars, sorry but no :p services maybe, cars... nope

service

Want Dealer was it?

Thats a standard question that all Stealerships ask customers to see if a file/record has been created for the car. For example, if this was not your first time then then they would have all your vehicle/personal details on record and would only need to enter your vheilce registration number BUT becasue you were a new customer they would have to create a new record on the system.

Just check your painwork/bodywork carefully. Stealers dont excatly take much care when washing cars and make sure there are no door dings from other carless people whilst parked up at the Stealership ;)

PS. You were within your rights to request a courtesy car under Mobilo/Warranty or at least a taxi to and from the Stealership (I bet that the Stealer did no tell you that...) :p

I guess that's why they generally don't like you talking to the people in the workshop.

My last few cars were Peugeots, and the above is a heck of a lot better than I *ever* got from either of the dealers I dealt with.

I rather suspect the dealer was Mb Preston, on the docks. A better dealer, believe me, is Mb Blackpool. ALWAYS curtious, helpfull and efficient.

Whenever I book into a Stealer, they tell me that if you want a courtesy car or a collection and delivery service, I'd have to wait about 78 years cos they are very busy at the moment!!!!

Are they supposed to pay for a taxi to get you home/work and back if they don't have a driver or courtesy car available?

If the vehilce is under the 3 year warranty (has all the service stamps on time etc.) and the Warranty repair is to exceed 2HRS at the Stealership (not the book time for the repair/job) then YES!!! You are actually entitled to a Courtesy car that the Stealer has to folk out for and claim back from DC!!!
