Hi all,

I was hoping to do a lot more work on this and provide a much more of a step by step guide on the install of this, but time got the better of me and a misplaced some images, so I'll do the best I can and hope it provides some interest...

I recently purchased my new (second hand) MB after giving back my company car and it had an Audio20 head end unit installed which is really of use to me due to limited features and I didn't really want to splash out on upgrading to another MB unit.

I was initially tempted to try and install a tablet somehow but then realised that there was already something available out there and I didn't need to try and re-invent the wheel.

After having a look around I decided to go for an Android based head end unit, which would give me the freedom to install any Apps (SatNav, TuneIn, etc...).

This is the one I went for, it was a very reasonable £265 on Amazon:

It has a ton of features that are listed here, but essentially it is Double Din sized, Android based dual core tablet with an amplifier stuck at the back of it.

After a bit of research and varied reviews, I decided to take the plunge as it definitely seemed to offer me exactly what I wanted from a unit that I just couldn't find elsewhere. I bought it from Amazon (here)just before Christmas and it promptly arrived only three working days later. The box contained the normal stuff, cables, manual, GPS antenna, remote control, etc...

I then went about taking out the existing Audio20 unit to find out what cables I would need, I was hoping to document the taking out the existing unit, but again realised that there was, of course, already something already done, so just successfully followed this video on eBay.

I needed a Double Din fascia for the unit and bought this one:

From Amazon here. Now I'll be honest, it took me 2 hours to file this fascia down because the Chinese double din size appears to be slightly larger that the normal double din size and I had to painfully file it down to the absolute minimum to get the unit to fit.

I then realised that I needed a few cables, the first one (1) is the ISO connector block to include a CANBUS decoder for the steering wheel controls, then the additional Chinese cables (2) for the specific Eonon head end unit and finally an FM adapter cable (3)

1) Connects2 CT23MB14 Mercedes C Class 2007> CD Stereo Double Din Fascia Panel
2) Got one from here.
3) CONNECTS 2 CT27FM02 FAKRA AERIAL ADAPTER KIT AERIAL ADAPTOR ANTENNA CONNECTOR

So, first thing to do was to spend ages filing the fascia for the new unit to fit in, it has to be filed right to the limits to fit it, the cabling was pretty straightforward and the install was fiddly but not to complicated and here are the final photos.

I'll do a review in a few days. Initial impression is very good!

Good work. That is a decent looking unit. I will be interested to see how it performs over the coming months re reliability.

When I fitted a similar, albeit much simpler unit, I moved the holding brackets forward about 7mm, so the unit is almost flush with the surface.

Looks good, well done.

I would be the same as you. I class "fascia" as just that. It should go on last, and fit flush?
Apart from that, it does not look a bad unit.

I tried that and just couldn't get it to fit properly and totally ran out of patience!

Just hooked up a wireless reverse camera, getting there!

Yes, I remember it was very fiddly, I think I even had to drill two extra holes for the sprigly brackets to clip onto, but it was over three years ago, so don't remember exactly what I did, and unfortunately I've only taken a couple of before and after shots, not during ...

I wouldn't worry about it though - your's looks great, and certainly a very capable head unit too! :thumb:
