Age of MB Drivers.....

37 and my first Merc, I love it, never looked at or been interested in Benz's previously, and not sure I would buy MB again, it doesn't have the poise of a BMW, and I miss that sure footedness and confidence when I chuck it into a corner.

But I'll enjoy it for now, maybe a shock upgrade might change my mind.

I am 30 got my first merc at 24 a ml270cdi great big car had it 4 years and went for a BMW 325 m sport "dme" broke fixed it kept it 6 months and then bought my c 200amg Cdi and I love it! Wouldn't buy anything else.

This is interesting. I used to be into BMW in a big way but got sick of their hideous reliability and scary handling into bends.
Sadly I am temporarily burdened with a 2012 3 series at the moment which at this very moment in for repairs on its stupid tyre pressure system.
BMWs owned are x2 328, x1 M3, x1 2.8 Z3, x1 316 compact, x1 320 (current)
My 320 is very twitchy and I drive like an old woman round every corner.

My limited experience of Mercs on the other hand has been great handling and bar niggles like the roof on my SL and gunked up windscreen wiper (on a car that had been siting) very good reliabilty.
I might add the BMW i have had have all been new or a few years old. (Compared to 10 year old + mercs) and yet I have had two engine failures, head gaskets etc etc

Stll want an E30 M3 or E34 M5 though!

I had a 318is coupe in NZ, whilst slow it handled like on rails which helped hide the speed and didn't cost us a cent, in fact, I made $400 on the sale, amazing what a good cut and polish can do.

Had a 525i as well that apart from a fuel pump at 190,000kms, was reliable too, and then here in the UK, my 528i Individual was awesome, had the usual hedgehog problem that cost me £19 to fix myself, had the auto flushed (for peace of mind) but nothing else went wrong or cost me money to repair/replace. It handled brilliantly and filled me with absolute confidence, admittedly it had good tyres on, Avon ZZ3s all around (and I really don't rate the Pirellis on the Benz), it sat low and squat, didn't roll in the corners and just gripped.
I sold that to a friends mate who is now selling it back to my mate. I sold it at 147000 looking like new, and he is now selling it on at 165,000miles, still looking like new, but has had a new temp sensor and ABS sensor fitted, so only maintenance really. All in all, a brilliant car and fool on me for selling it.

I think for me, whilst the merc is not necessarily scary, it just doesn't fill me with confidence, mainly on the front end, so perhaps new tyres will change my mind, but I think even my Mondeo ST220 Estate handled better than the Merc.

50 and own cl500 love it been a good car

im 22 and i got a 2014 shape e220cdi cabriolet when i was 21
and ive already ordered my 2nd one lol
safe to say im hooked. i feel the competition from audi and bmw just dont match up the the mercedes standard.
so could be the start of a very long list of mercedes lol

I'm 22, just got my first ever Mercedes (2012 C220 CDI AMG Sport+ coupé) and couldn't be more satisfied!

Already started tweaking it including a remap, some vinyl wrapping, C63 grille and soon will have a 350 twin exhaust :)

24, I have a 2008 C220 CDI Elegance.
Love it, purchased this car for the reliability, I used to own a Peugeot 206 then a Mazda RX8.
As you can imagine the 8 wasn't my wisest choice what with its ****el issue.

I am 27, got CLS 500. Bought Merc due to German made and love history.

I will be 42 next month, 320cdi avant-garde, my mrs is 36 this year and about to get a A Class140

First car I will have owned since my Vauxhall chevette 1.2 saloon when I was 17.

Been doing options cars for years (mainly skoda) but due to the terrible service ive had, decided to go older and more prestige.

Hi I was 30 when I bought my C Coupe 220 AMG+
Now a year older and have replaced the 220 for a C63....
Next I guess will be a house lol...

I got my E320 when I was 46, I had 3 kids and I had a choice between a new Renault Espace and a 5 year old MB Estate. Didn't take too long to decide!

I'll be 60 next year having been a boy racer for the past seven years in an Italian hot hatch. Still young at heart but a b*ggered left knee (too much cricket and bowling) had me looking for an automatic - an E240 S210.

Been driving it for a month and wife and my knee really like it !

I'm 44, just bought my first Mercedes, a gorgeous Palladium Silver C63 AMG.

After being a Ford man up to now, I'll never go back, it's Mercs all the way now.

I'd love to say I was a 21 year old with long flowing locks, but I was 58 almost two weeks ago. The bizarrely coloured SLK was bought around my 57th. Though I did have a Spitfire IV at about 21 and we had a Scimitar 6a back in the 80s. (That was a nightmare of under-engineering!)
