Air Filters..?

Hiya,

Good call fella, I doubt you will be disappointed with the choice.

Next, it has to be an exhaust upgrade/decent remap, but gains will not be excessive, more a driveability thing from my reading, along with fuel consumption increase at WOT, try some of the E46 forums for peoples experiences with various maps/tuners, there is some very interesting reading to be undertaken with regard to mapping E46 M3's, even read something about a tune that contained coding for sport button 'memory'...

OR

Just keep it pretty standard and enjoy.(something I have not done with the mini)..LOL...:thumb:

Hey buddy,

will let you know if I feel any difference, regarding the remap...I might give it a remap in the future but for now I just want to drive it and see how it goes, It's really fast already, but fuel is nightmare, so I would probably remap it for that reason alone some time in the near future...

Thanks for the advice buddy, will report back in a few days! :thumb:

Fitted the ITG filter this morning, it's a good filter, i'm glad I bought it, doesnt really do anything as regards to perfomance but now it sounds a little better and maybe the throttle at cruising speed is better:):thumb:

Great news, all went well, these panel filters are definately less restrictive, but people normally, mainly go for them for the fact they will last longer than standard ones, gains will be minimal. ITG are the best, when it comes to uprated panel filters IMHO. Good choice fella.

Your car looks beautiful, really well kept. Great choice, as there are a fair few 'not so good' examples of E46's out there, yours looks spot on, great spec. as well.

Wish you well to use it and let us know about any future mods...

Thanks buddy and also thanks for the advice, forgot about the ITG filter intill you came round and said.. I hear allot of good things about them, main reason I bought them is they last allot longer than the OEM ones, saves you money on the long run plus better airflow.. in a 343bhp car I knew I wasnt really going to feel much...

maybe a CSL airbox and a remap next??;)

Alot seem to run Gruppe M or Simota also, as for maps, really research, there are some decent maps but my advice is research before allowing anyone to flash the DME with their software and part with your hard earned, ask questions about what the specific map is like, is it a 'canned' tune or custom for your mods or even a live tune??..Compare e.t.c., forums will help, the E46 M3 has a huge tuning following so everything is out there, btw subtle differences in mapping can make all the difference if you are after something specific...

Akrapovich make great exhausts for it also, but as this is a MB forum, best not go on too much...:) I love MB and BMW, always have, always will do, thus the amount of reading I do when I am off uni..:dk:

Take care fella.:thumb:

I'm on an M3 forum now and they seem very helpful and i've read so many threads about remaps etc but I only go to West-Tuning for the remaps, hes a good friend and hes tried and tested and known to produce very good results;)

I'd like to keep the car as original as possible,.

anywayzzz thanks for advice buddy, speak to you soon and take care, might need your advice again soon.:thumb:
