Air intake heat shielding

Heat shielding would indeed help, I doubt you would notice it though.

The 2 best ideas for stopping heat build up on the inlet were a carbon fibre inlet manifold, after a full load pull on the dyno the guy just put his hand on the inlet and it was quite cool.

The other was what I believe to be a resin spacer, this stopped the heat transfer from the cylinder head.

Personally I wouldn't bother unless I was going for big power.
