Hi Everyone

I was looking on this web site http://www.my450sl.com/ as I have just bought a W107 420 SL 1986 model mercedes car.

I seen the car on the web site has got crome wheels, they look great on this car and was wondering if anyone can advise me if the wheels can be crommed or do they come out of the factory like this.

I sure would like mine looking like the one on that web page.

Anyone know of a company that does this around the Merseyside area.

Regards,

Ian.

Please please dont go the Bling , Gangsta, American look with your SL.

Its the subtle, understatedness that makes these cars a classic  not the in your face look !

Its your car, do what you want with it, its just my opinion.

Hi Wobbly,

I just wanted to see what them crome wheels would look like and not change anythink on the car at all. just keep it the same spec as it came out of the factory.

As I said, Just my opinion

I had this same discussion on an American website a few months ago, some of its members wanted me banned from the forum, for saying anyone who molests a SL with chrome wheels, should not be allowed to own one. Maybe its just me........

Other than the fact that they look horrible, chromed alloys have all sorts of problems.

Don't do it...

Chroming alloy, changes its molecular stucture, and weakens the alloy.

Hi Wobbly,

I never knew it will weaken the alloy, thanks for the advise on the matter.
Guess ill just be looking for a good rear bumber now then and a few other bits too.

Stick with your 15" wheels.
