Alternator for R129...SL600

Hi Guys,

It appear as I will need a new alternator, part number 0081548302 according to Mercedes. I have two questions:
1. Is it practise or worthwhile to renovate/recondition the current alternator?
2. Where can I source a new or reconditioned alternator to a reasonable price...MB is very expensive...?

Try ECP / GSF / KMS - I presume it's a Bosch part?

you can get most parts sent frpm USA cheaper than anywere in Britian,
log on to www. drivewire.com and put in year make model.

Shipping and tax makes it impractical - they also don't sell Alternators for Mercedes.
